The algorithm of eig() function

I need to learn about the algorithm of the eig() function to know how some errors is imposed on the eigen values of a system and how the matlab writes the script or the algorithm to derive the eigen values of a matrix system. Anyone can help me with the algorithm or the script of the eig() function in MATLAB or recommend me some resources how matlab runs eig() function??

In MATLAB workspace type edit eig ; this will open the eig.m code, in there you can read about eig. PS: don't edit anything in the code.

This command tells us how to write the eig function in another matlab script...but i want to know how eig() function script itself is written in matlab

It does not indicate the method as of R2016a. Which version are you looking at?
