2016b provides an answer to the operation [1 2 3 4 5].' + [1 2 3 4] whereas 2015b indicates 'Matrix dimensions must agree'. 2016b's behaviour is not clearly documented. Is it correct?

        You are using R2016a Preview, which had that (undocumented) behaviour as a test; it did not make it into R2016a official release.

				Wait, are you using R2016a Preview, or R2016b Preview? What you describe was present in R2016a Preview and was removed for full release. If you are talking about R2016b Preview, then that is something that cannot be discussed here (the Non-Disclosure Agreement does not permit public discussion of the preview releases.)
