Motor Control with Adafruit Motor Shield V2 using Simulink

Is there any way to control DC motors connected to the Adafruit Motor Shield V2 using Simulink? I am familiar with how to do this with Matlab, so is it possible to create an arduino object and include the Adafruit\MotorShieldV2 library within a user-defined MATLAB function block in Simulink? Part of the problem is that the arduino() function is not supported by the MATLAB function block.

Currently Adafruit MotorShield V2 is not supported in Simulink Support Package for Arduino Hardware. You can take a look at https://in.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/fileexchange/46133-motor-shields. This has custom drivers for the shield to be used with Simulink.
