matlab change my environment variable $PATH, Can I remove them from $PATH?

there is
C:\Program Files\MATLAB\R2015b\runtime\win64;C:\Program Files\MATLAB\R2015b\bin
in my environment variable $PATH, what is the use? Can I remove them from $PATH?
If I remove them from $PATH, will matlab break?

What do you mean it changes your $PATH ? You are clearly using MS Windows, which does not have a $PATH . MS Windows uses %PATH% for its command shell.

Well, they get added as part of the install process so I assume they need to be there. You can try removing them though and then just re-add them if/when it breaks.
