Arduin and matlab GUI

Hello, How can I send numbers to arduino after pressing push button in GUI. I have programmed an elevator with arduino and I want to be able to control it with GUI matlab as well.So my primary idea is to send a number to arduino and based on that execute related program in the arduino.

Have you tried using serial function in MATLAB to talk to the arduino. If you want to use the MATLAB support for Arduino you will have to rewrite the algorithms as well
