MATLAB Installer Crashes R2014b and R2015a on Mac Pro (late 2013)

I am trying to install matlab R2015a on a Mac Pro (late 2013). When I start the installer Java throws this error message below. I have successfully installed matlab R2015a on a macbook pro from the same file. Is there support for the Mac pro or a solution to the problem? I have culled the error report below if the entire report is needed then I will post it. (this is my first post of Matlab answers)

Hi Nicholas,
This crash can occur due to several reasons. In order to troubleshoot this issue, you can try to do the following:
1. Check if your system has more than 16 Thunderbolt devices. MATLAB installer can crash if you have more than 16 of these devices connected on your system. Also, do you happen to have two thunderbolt displays being used with your Mac Pro? If so there is a bug that you might be affected by. You can refer to the link below. It describes the issue as well as provides a work around.

2. Update your Java version on Mac, as it should be at least version 1.7. You can find instructions on how to do this on the following link:
