Gradients

I have 4 different arrays: a time array, an array of x locations, an array of y-locations, and 2D array of pressure values corresponding to the times and locations. The x and y locations are irregularly spaced. I would like to extract from the data pressure gradients.
I was considering fitting a function to the values, but I am even unsure how to do this with irregular locations.
Thanks for your help.

You could use triscatteredinterp to interpolate onto a regular grid and then calculate the gradients with MATLAB's builtin gradient function.
doc triscatteredinterp
doc gradient
doc meshgrid
