Supported Compilers, R2015a, Ubuntu
Show older comments
I got the "need supported compilers" at the end of my installation.
After running around checking wtf, I discovered that
apt-get install build-essential
installs gcc/g++ 4.8.x
When gcc/g++ 4.7.x is required.
apt-get install gcc-4.7 g++-4.7
seems to install the correct compiler.
Do I now need to reinstall the entire package to take advantage of this, or is having them installed sufficient?

I have just removed these symlinks: sudo rm /usr/bin/g++ /usr/bin/gcc
And created new ones: sudo ln -s /usr/bin/g++-4.7 /usr/bin/g++ sudo ln -s /usr/bin/gcc-4.7 /usr/bin/gcc ... etc
Despite this I am still getting the compilation errors:
