No matter what I try MatLAB remains frozen on the initializing, white screen and will only shut down with a force quit.

MATLAB R2024b - academic use header over completely white screen (initializing message is absent). I've restarted my computer, force quit and re opened the application, and even uninstalled and reinstalled matlab but it is always the same issue. A few days before this issue started I began getting a popup that my login information wouldn't be saved but after inputting that it worked as regular. I've also tried older versions of matlab which usually show the same white screen but occasionally open to the workspace but don't let me interact with anything. My computer is a MacOS Sonoma 14.6.

Hey Elmer,
The MATLAB support for macOS Sonoma started with R2023b and it is relatively new. There are a few known issues when running MATLAB on Sonoma. One such issue is that MATLAB can become unresponsive when closing or docking windows.
As far as I understand, in your case, MATLAB is becoming unresponsive as soon as it is launched without any interaction. Since this issue, seems to be new and difficult to reproduce, I would suggest some general troubleshooting steps as mentioned here:
  1. Ensure that the MATLAB version you are using is compatible with Sonoma 14.6. Sometimes, new macOS updates may require updates or patches from MATLAB to ensure compatibility.
  2. Perform a clean installation of MATLAB. This involves completely removing any existing MATLAB installations and preferences before reinstalling MATLAB from scratch. I believe you have already done this.
  3. Please refer to the following MATLAB Answers post to check out the complete list of issues related to Sonoma which MathWorks is aware of: https://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/2044833-is-matlab-compatible-with-macos-sonoma
  4. Contact MathWorks Support: If the issue persists, you can go ahead and create a Service Request for the same here: https://www.mathworks.com/support/contact_us.html?s_tid=hc_trail
I hope this would help!
