For a non-Simulink real time process running on a Windows PC is UDP the best way to communicate with Simulink running on the same PC? Is Simulink Desktop Real-Time the best product for this?

Hi Louis,
UDP is certainly a viable way to communicate between two processes on the same PC, no matter the real time. Whether Simulink Desktop Real-Time is a suitable product depends on what behavior you need on the Simulink side. If you want Simulink to run synchronously with your real-time process, that is, to run in real time as well, then Simulink Desktop Real-Time may be the right choice. Simulink Desktop Real-Time contains UDP support if you decide to use UDP for the communication.
Good Luck, Jan
