Is reinstallation required if I already have ML installed from a previous license and just bought a home license?

1 view (last 30 days)
I have a 2019a installation already on my Mac from a previous home-ware license. The install was for an Intel-based Mac. I just bought a home license (for an M1 Mac Studio), but I still only need 2019a right now. So I have two questions:
1) Must I uninstall and reinstall Matlab+Simulink for my new purchase?
2) Can I use the esisting installation and just activate with the new license? N.B. the previous install has every toolbox and my new home license has a subset of toolboxes.

I take it you transfered over the installed software using Time Machine or something similar.
You do not need to reinstall. Re-activating is enough.
However: MacOS Sonoma is not generally compatible with R2019a. It is questionable whether you will be able to get it to work.

Thanks Walter. I'm still on Ventura, and it seems to be working OK (exc for the "Times" warning :) ). Thanks for the heads-up about Sonoma. Is that a Rosetta issue?
