Cannot run matlab R2023a orE2023b installer on centos 7.9

Package installer does not work (it hangs indefinitely), when trying to run bin/glnxa64/MATLABWindow I get (note this also happens with version 2023a):

I am having the same issue here (RHEL 7.9). Workarounds (e.g., LD_PRELOAD) provided to vaguely similar issues haven't worked. As a note, the implementation of workarounds is an indication that software is faulty. Right now, I'm thinking MATLAB 2023b doesn't support RHEL 7.9 even though it's documented as supporting it.

Note: I gzip'ed all copies of libstdc++.so* in the MATLAB install directory and loaded an environment module for gcc/10. This resulted in "Error creating and setting up the model" when running the install script (bin/glnxa64/MATLABwindows seemed to work).

I was able to work around the graphical installer problem by shifting to a non-interactive install.

./install -inputFile /sw/matlab/matlab2023b_install.txt
