Linearize simulink model including DAE descriptor statespaces, version 2020b vs 2022b

Hallo,
did anything change in the behavior of the linearize() function (Simulink Control Design) from 2020b to 2022b?
I want to do a linearization of a simulink model which contains descriptor statespace blocks with Index-3 DAEs. Using matlab version 2020b the linearize() function works (at least it does not give error messages) but after the update to version 2022b I receive the following error message:
Error using linearize
A system of differential-algebraic equations with a high index was detected in block 'DAE_block'.
Simulink does not support such system.
It is clear that I cannot simulate the model because the available solvers do not support a DAE index > 1, but is that also true for linearize()?
Then my question would be, why does version 2020b not throw an error?
