Is it possible to see the inside of the Simscape PMSM Block?

16 views (last 30 days)
For a project at university it would be nice to look under the mask of the Simscape PMSM block, to see how it is build and understand everything thats going on.
normally you would execute: right click on PMSM block --> Mask --> Look Under Mask ,but this only opens the BlockParameters window.
Is there a way to open the block itself and see what happens inside?
i build my own PMSM models by translating the mathematical equations of a PMSM into a Simulink model, which is working finde for ideal voltage sources. But i am having trouble using non ideal voltage sources and i want to know why. And why the Simscape PMSM blocks works fine with non ideal voltage sources.

Hi,
Unfortunately, the implementation of this block is internal to MathWorks. However, you can refer to the below link for a detailed explanation of this block,
Hope this helps!

Hi,
can you provide any information about how the back EMF of the PMSM is calculated. Especially if you decide to use Ld,Lq and PsiPM as input parameters and not the alternative flux linkage parametrization?
The documentation page of the PMSM block doesnt provide any information about this.
All the best!

Hello guys,
I think you can find the document about back EMF calculation in research paper or books for motor control. :D
