How do I map a horizontal component of any vector?

Hello,
If I have a velocity or any vector, how do I map the horizontal component or vertical one separately? Is it possible?
Thanks in advance!

Not at all sure what you mean. If you have a velocity vector v that is a 3-element vector, where the third element is the vertical direction, then the horizontal part would be v(1:2) and the vertical part would be v(3). If v is in a different coordinate system where the third element is not the vertical, then you will have to do a coordinate transformation first.

It is now obvious you are working on a plane, and that x is horizontal and y is vertical. But it is not obvious what you mean by "map the Vx or Vy components separately". I would assume v(1) would be Vx and v(2) would be Vy. You need to supply more details about what you mean.
