I am designing a memristor in MATLAB and I wanted to know 'What is mean by state variable of the memristor device' and 'How I should represent the state variable in MATLAB for the Memristor;? (Here is the equation : I = gm(x,t)·V (x is the state variable)).

If you are talking about modeling the memristor and running a simulation in MATLAB, then I think you can use ode45(). There are many examples in the link, showing you how to describe the differential equations in state vector form.
Try write the function for memristor ODEs. If you need further assistance, then come back here.

As you said, I trying ODEs to represent the state vector form. As of now the code is running smooth with ODEs.
