Used Mac Migration Assistant and can't open Matlab

3 views (last 30 days)
I recently brought over my used base line from my Mac workstation to a new laptop using Apple migration assistant. Matlab throw a license error when I tried to bring it up on the laptop. Is there any way I can activate this copy on my laptop or do I have to do a fresh download of matlab?

Please first verrify your username. After this, reactivate your Matlab on the new Mac.
Mac
  1. Open Finder.
  2. Go to "Applications".
  3. Right-click or control-click on the MATLAB application icon. (e.g. MATLAB_R2020b.app)
  4. Click on "Show Package Contents".
  5. Open "Activate.app"
Afterwards, you can use the same data of Matlab on your new Mac.

Thanks. I had this problem after using the Mac Migration Assistant, and running the "Activate" app fixed it.

and deactivate the license against the old machine and add the license against the new one; it should give you the license file to download (I think.)
