Why will the timeseries Variable Editor be removed?

Hello.
We're working with timeseries and we get this pop-up:
"The timeseries Variable Editor will be removed in a future release."
Does this mean timeseries is an invalid variable type come said release? Why is it being removed?
Thanks.

The timeseries data type will not be removed, only the custom form of the Variable Editor that is used to view and edit the data within a timeseries object. After the change it will still be possible to view and edit timeseries objects in the Variable Editor just as you would with any other MATLAB Object.

This comment sounds more like an internal Mathworks enhancement is coming soon?
The warning seems pretty dire. It "looks like" you're removing the ability for us to double-click a timeseries object in the debugger/editor to inspect it.
This one has been up for years. Any chance of updating the warning message? Make it clear what the options are, why we're getting a warning, etc.?
