How to install Matlab Student version R2014b on Windows 8?

1 view (last 30 days)
I have downloaded Matlab (Windows 64-bit) on Windows 8 but every time I try to install it this message comes up, "Can't create output file: _temp_matlab_R2014b_win64\help\includes\product\images\global\Thumbs.db". Does anyone know what I need to do so I can install Matlab?

Hey, just check your installation directory. It can happen if the access is denied to that directory without admin permission. Else change the location of the installation file to a directory, where you have already installed other files, or saved files directly from a software like word, powerpoint etc

Well I wouldn't call her lazy. That would be kind of rude. She may have posted during a time when the fast and free tech support was off work, and she was just hoping against hope that someone would have known. Since it's been a year and no one (including you or me) knew the answer, I'm assuming she took my advice and called them, which is always the fastest way.
