yes，sir，may be use fwrite/fread to make raw file，such as

im = imread('rice.png');
figure; imshow(im, []);

fid = fopen('a.raw','w');
fwrite(fid,im);
fclose(fid);

fid2 = fopen('a.raw');
im2 = fread(fid2);
fclose(fid2);

im2 = reshape(im2, 256, 256);
