I am woriking with a user who is having an issue getting Targetlink integrated with Matlab. Below is the error he receives. Any ideas on what he might be missing?
Default procedurce of dSPACE(R) software configuration failed.
Failed to create instance of dSPACE Installation Manager.
Error message: Error using actxserver (line 90)
Server creation failed. Invalid ProgID 'dSPACE.SessionManager.InstallationSetServer'.
Previously he had the Targetlink working but Matlab was removed from his machine and reinstalled and then this error started happening. He has tried uninstalling Targelink and Reinstalling, also resinstalling the dspace Installation manager but nothing has helped.

It just so happens that I am experiencing this same problem right now. We are working on some older "legacy" control software that was autocoded using Matlab R2013b and dSPACE TargetLink 3.5. After re-installing both packages on a new PC, I am getting the same exact error message when starting Matlab. Matlab starts Ok but TargetLink does not. I've tried a lot of things and have not been able to figure out how to fix it. The old PC (where things worked just fine) and the new PC are practically identical in basic functionality. Both were/are running Windows 10. I hope someone can help!
Here is my error message (just to show that it is identical):

I am currently having dSPACE version 6 installed along with Matlab 2013b. It is showing that, Matlab 2013b is not integrated with dSPACE. Also, the dSPACE Installation Manager is 4.2. How could i integrate dSPACE with Matlab 2013b?

I posted this problem to the dSPACE support team and they eventually determined that I was using a version of the dSPACE Installation Manager that was not compatible with my MATLAB R2013b / TargetLink 3.5 installation. I had dSPACE Installation Manager version 5.7.1 installed and needed to have version 4.3 installed.
Here is the response they gave:
This seems to be a problem with the dSPACE Installation Manager.
To solve that, reinstall the dSPACE Installation Manager.
1. Uninstall Installation Manager by using the Control Panel of the PC:
Start > Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features > Uninstall or change a program
2. After the uninstall process has finished, delete the following file manually:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\dSPACE\Setup\DSInstallationManager.msi
or
C:\Program Files\Common Files\dSPACE\Setup\DSInstallationManager.msi
3. Install the Installation Manager 4.3, uploaded the setup here (run as administrator !):
I found the version 4.3 by clicking on the "Windows 7" button on the page and then seaching down the list to find 4.3. You can search the list for the version that would be appropriate to your installed MATLAB / TargetLink combination.
I followed the instructions and it fixed my problem! I hope it works for you!

Our dSPACE representative said to try installing/using Installation Manager 5.4. It might allow us to work both with Matlab R2013b / TargetLink 3.5 and Matlab R2019b / TargetLink 5.0. Our "tools" team will be giving it a try.
