Matlab crashes after clearing java object and then creating object again

I'm hoping that someone has come across this behavior before as it will be quite difficult to provide sample code that replicates the problem.

I have a self-created JAR file that's loaded up in classpath.txt. I have written my own matlab object which contains some Java objects from the JAR. Everything works fine, including both the matlab object and the Java object. While working on my matlab object code I will periodically issue 'clear all' to make sure the changes take effect. If I then recreate my matlab object (which in itself creates java objects) Matlab crashes every single time.

If I restart, the objects are created again with no problem at all.

Anyone come across this type of behavior
