problem updating MATLAB drive
Show older comments
I keep getting this error message but I do not understand it. Nothing seems to be wrong. Message reads: MATLAB Drive Update failed. Could not update 'javax'

Hi Michael,
Are you able to open the MATLAB Drive Connector window to see the full error message? On Windows, you can do so by clicking on the MATLAB Drive Connector icon in the System Tray, down by the clock (it may be hidden behind the expansion arrow). On macOS, it should be in the menu bar, and on Linux, you can run:
~/bin/MATLABConnector toggle
in a terminal to bring up the window.
There should be a more detailed error message in that window to explain why the "javax" file can't be synchonised.

Hi Michael,
Apologies for the delated response. I think you probably hit a one-off error that MATLAB Drive Connector was able to resolve itself. Unfortunately, once we've sent the error notification, we can't unsend it. If you dismiss the notification, does it reoccur? As long as the MATLAB Drive Connector icon and window show you as Up To Date, there aren't any ongoing synchonisation issues.
Best wishes,
Conor

Hi Mike,
Thanks for the update! Are you able to share any information about what's in javax in your MATLAB Drive folder? Is it perhaps possible that another program is reading or locking those files, which could be periodically interferring with MATLAB Drive Connector's ability to read or write those files? Have you noticed that the errors coincide with any particular workflow or use of another program?
Thanks,
Conor
