Matlab Installation folder

Iam using windows 7 home basic 64 bit machine. Also using matlab R2011a

Iam unable to see matlab installed program in my start->programs menu list.

To run matlab I am going to "C:\Program Files\MATLAB\R2011a\bin\matlab.exe". This is irritating me. Finally I pinned it to my task bar.

Still I have some problem, Whenever I click on the matlab icon, initially one command window is executing, later matlab is opening.

Another problem is, suppose whenever I click on matlab image .fig it is opening matlab, but not opening that figure.

Any solution please!

The Mathworks gives free telephone support for all installation issues such as these, even for the student edition. Call them and ask why you're having these problems.
