Adapt to your case the following script. I've colored the rectangles with facecolor, but you can eliminate that if you want just the contours.
clc
close all
clearvars
x = 0;
y = 15;
width = 12;
height = 23;
nrow = 5;
ncol = 3;
figure,hold on
for i = 1:nrow
yy = y + (i-1)*height;
for j = 1:ncol
xx = x + (j-1)*width;
rectangle('position',[xx,yy,width,height],'facecolor',rand(3,1))
end
end

I have no idea of how you do that specifically.

hello, I am working on this same project. I just have one doubt. Should i make this rectangle grid to make binary occupancy map? or just by using the binary occupancy function can i make O's and 1's? thanks in advance.
