Import excel file into MATLAB on Macbook

9 views (last 30 days)
Hello all, I have a problem with a code and I can't seem to find a solution to it.
So I need to read a spreadsheet on MATLAB for my code to work. I tried xlsread but it keeps showing up the error of:
>>Unable to open file '/Users/yvonnejong/Desktop/AB30/03_09_2019/ramp/fp/AB30 Ramp FP with gcRight.xlsx'.<<
How do I go about solving this? I am using a MACBOOK so I think that might be the problem as I've tried the same code on my school Windows computer and it works just fine.

What is q? I ask, because if it is -1, this is an option that works only on Windoze systems. Otherwise, if q is a positive integer, or the name of a worksheet, then it should open that sheet. Thus, I see in the help:
The following syntaxes are supported only on Windows systems with Excel software:
[NUM,TXT,RAW]=xlsread(FILE,-1) opens an Excel window to select data
interactively.
So what is q?

From my understanding you want to load data from a spreadsheet to MATLAB. Alternatively, you could use readtable, readmatrix and readcell functions to read data from a spreadsheet as they work with xlsx format as well.
