coherence enhancement

although this is not strictly a matlab related question.. could somebody tell me what coherence enhancement is?

also,what exactly is flow visualization in the context of images. I'd be very happy if sombebody could answer this as well.

You could ask in sci.image.processing. Basically it's doing smoothing along lines and ridges more than perpendicular to them. One situation where this comes in handy is in cleaning up noise in fingerprint images.

Coherence enhancement. There are a couple of nice non-linear diffusion filter functions on the file exchange that does coherence enhancement filtering.
