I am getting ready to purchase an individual commercial license of MATLAB and wanted to understand how many computers I can install it on. Looking to install it on two computers at home and my computer at work and didn't know whether that was possible.

Yes it is possible. That's the way I use it. I believe they told me I can install it on 3 computers. You can do it that way you described, unless you want multiple login/user accounts on the same computer. It's one or the other, not both.

There are license types where you can and some where you can't. Better then relying on such a forum, I sugest relying on your MathWorks Account Manager / SalesRep.

Hi,
I purchased a Student licence R2015b and installed on my desktop at home. Can I use that licence to install the R2015b on my laptop?

At the MATLAB command prompt, give the command
doc
When the documentation window comes up, in the bottom middle click on Terms of Use. That will bring up your license file. Search it for "Student" and you will find the limits applicable to you.
In the R2014a license files, Student Version and Home Version were both restricted to single computers. It is possible that the situation has changed.
