I'm trying to install MCR R2012b 64 bit version on my 64 bit machine. When I click on the installer,it unzips, shows "deleting temporary files" and then stops.
It never proceeds further. Please help to identify the problem.
Are there any specific system requirements for the installation?

I had the same problem with 64 bit MCR R2014b (version 8.4) on 64 bit Windows 7 computer. We would run MCRInstaller.exe and it would run the Winzip self-extractor, then it would automatically run the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 redistributable, then it would never bring up the installation window but just leave the window below up forever:
I called tech support and they suggested running in Administrator mode and that didn't help. Then they suggested rebooting. We rebooted and ran in Administrator mode and then, thankfully, it brought up the normal installation windows. We went through the installation prompts and evidently it did install correctly, because my compiled application was able to run. However, we still did have the above "Deleting temporary files" window up that never went away. We had to kill it with task manager (Control-shift-Esc). Tech support was going to try to find out where the temporary files might be and if they are really in some folder that Windows will eventually clean out, or if they are in some other folder that will remain forever. The MCRInstaller is over 700 MB and I certainly don't want almost a gigabyte of space wasted. Below is what they told me:
I ran the MCRInstaller on my Windows 7 machine and found that the files get extracted in this location :
C:\Users\<userid>\AppData\Local\Temp\WZSE0.TMP
You can navigate directly to "C:\Users\<userid>\AppData\Local\Temp" as follows :
1) Press Windows + R on your keyboard
2) Enter "%TEMP%" without quotes in the dialog box
In my case, the folder "WZSE0.TMP" got deleted, once the installation was complete.
My client left with her computer before I learned this, so I was not able to see whether the file was still there or not.
