which algorithm suitable for remote sensing image.. Is any threshold algorithm suitable?....

otsu algorithm is not supporting for remote sensing image.. Bcz the image size is very large. if i split my image into no of size means i cant get a correct merging segmented image.. so plz give a solution....

I have my doubts that using a single global threshold would be appropriate for large images. You should consider adaptive thresholding. See for example http://homepages.inf.ed.ac.uk/rbf/HIPR2/adpthrsh.htm and also look at adaptive wavelets
