usb 6008 to acquire and storing in excel file

could i use the code in this page http://www.mathworks.com/products/daq/code-examples.html?file=/products/demos/shipping/daq/demo_compactdaq_background_acquisition_data_log.html to aquire data in background and storing it in a matrix and send it to excel file after finishing?

It appears to me that you should be able to. The usb 6008 is supported for the session based interface.
