Incorporating Optimization Into Supply Chain Scheduling

Daryl Ning, MathWorks

Scheduling plays an important role in any successful mining project, for example, when controlling grade quality through various blending techniques. View this webinar to learn how MATLAB seamlessly integrates with Simulink allowing you to:

  • Develop complex scheduling algorithms using MATLAB control flow statements
  • Access constraint-based optimization algorithms from MATLAB toolboxes
  • Call MATLAB from Simulink to optimize your supply chain model and maximize profit

A simple supply chain model incorporating an optimal blending strategy will be used to demonstrate these key concepts.

Presenter Bio:

Daryl Ning is principal application engineer at MathWorks Australia. He joined the MathWorks Australia sales team in 2006 and transitioned to application engineering in 2007. Before MathWorks, Daryl worked for the Australian distributor of MATLAB and Simulink in the sales team for the academia. Daryl received both his Ph.D. and B.Eng. in electrical engineering from the Queensland University of Technology, where he also worked as a research assistant in speech and audio processing for biometrics and compression.
