FEM Operations Toolbox
Toolbox for automated and AI-based analysis of Finite-Element-Method simulation results
Highlights
- Automation of result-adaptive, mesh-independent, and in-depth Finite Element (FE) results analysis
- Feature extraction for enhanced surrogate modeling and machine learning in Finite Element Method (FEM)
- Extraction of structural results, which have not been intended and marked for post-processing in the input decks
- Identification of causalities and reasons for FE simulation results instead of correlations only
- Enhanced sensor simulation within the Finite Element Method
Description
The Finite Element Method (FEM) is the state-of-the-art method in the automotive and aerospace industries for structural design and lightweight construction. FEM results postprocessing analysis traditionally consists of the execution of fixed, predefined scripts for evaluation of standard results and the manual execution of in-depth analysis by specialized high-level experts. The FEM Operations Toolbox enables the broad, systematic, and comprehensive application of methods from the fields of artificial intelligence, machine learning, data mining, and pattern recognition for a highly flexible, results-adaptive, and automated high-level analysis of FEM simulation results. The proven mathematics of MATLAB® provides a trustworthy, reliable, and flexible foundation for this analysis.
Besides the comprehensive automation and enhanced analysis capabilities, the FEM Operation Toolbox enables the application of advanced data mining onto the results of Simulation Data Management Systems (SDMS), unleashing and representing years of design expertise and construction principles hidden in big companies’ simulation databases by artificial intelligence.
FEM Operations Toolbox is a MATLAB toolbox and an extension of ANDATA's Signal Structure Toolbox and Geometric Operations Toolbox. All functions of the toolbox can be controlled via a command line interface. This allows all operations to be combined into application-specific scripts or apps and integrated into specific work environments. End users are developers and administrators of simulation data management research and development departments for new processes, methods, and tools, as well as industries with massive utilization of finite element simulations in product development (e.g., automotive).
