The MATLAB files for the State-Table-based SPIHT (STS) image compression algorithm are being shared here. The STS algorithm shows better performance in terms of compression efficiency, complexity and memory requirement in comparison to SPIHT. Even at higher bitrates, it takes over JPEG2000.
