without automatic generation control, the droop control or governor response by a generation resource would not be able to bring the steady state frequency to 60 Hz after the disturbance occurs. In this model, a PI controller is built to reduce the steady state frequency deviation to zero. Rotor speed and pitch control is performed to reduce the active power in proportion to change in frequency. This AGC controller co-ordinates with another synchronous generator 'M2'. Time response plots of various parameters for both Wind turbine and Synchronous generator with and without AGC is provided. A matlab code is written to plot corresponding curves. The disturbance occurs at t= 50 sec and the AGC control loop activates at t=110 sec once the commands is received from the transmission system operator. Wind generation resource was operating at wind speed of 10 m/s and was running at less than its maximum power point. WGR is supplying 10% of the total load.
