MATLAB implementation demonstrates the application of a Unified Power Flow Controller (UPFC) to enhance voltage stability in a power system.
This MATLAB code presents an implementation of a UPFC, a versatile device used for real and reactive power control in electrical networks to enhance voltage stability. The code defines system parameters, including nominal load voltage and load reactive power, as well as UPFC parameters like voltage magnitude and reactive power output. The UPFC current injection is calculated, and the load voltage is updated with UPFC compensation. The Voltage Stability Index (VSI) is computed for both cases - with and without UPFC - to assess the effectiveness of the compensation. A plot is generated to visualize the voltage phasors before and after UPFC compensation.
