Contest Rules
Main Round:
- You earn contest points based on the difficulty level of a Cody problem. For example, if a problem has a difficulty rating of 1.5, you earn 1.5 contest points by solving it. If a problem does not have a difficulty rating yet, you earn 1 contest point.
- Each of the 3 teams has its own leaderboard. You will be ranked by how many contest points you have earned. Tie-breaker: If two or more players have the same number of contest points, ranking will be determined by the time they complete the Cody 2025 contest problem group.
- Create Tips & Tricks articles in your team’s channel in the Discussions area.
Bonus Round:
The Bonus Round is a fun live code-along event. Players will demonstrate how they solve a Cody problem while sharing their thought process, approach, or tips & tricks. The goal is to promote MATLAB learning and knowledge sharing.
- Two players from each team (a total of 6 players) will be invited
- One will be the top-ranked player on the team’s leaderboard.
- One will be selected by the MathWorks Cody Team based on the quality and impact of their Tips & Tricks articles.
- If an invitee is not able to attend, an alternate will be selected from the same team based on both contest point totals and article quality.
- The two players from each team will work together to solve a Cody problem in a private Microsoft Teams meeting
- MathWorks staff will also join the meeting to facilitate and provide commentary.
- The meeting will be recorded and shared with the Cody community.
- After all 3 teams finish the Cody problem-solving event, there will be a watch party to watch the videos and have a live chat. Everyone is welcome to join the party.
