do you know how to load a mat file?

I am making a gui for my study related to artificial neural network. I managed to make some script but I can't make the only section load matlab mat file finished ANN learning. how can I load mat file into command window and process the gui design by coding? please give your answers.thank you

firstly store your mat-file in current matlab directory.

in the command window... type this command..

>> load filename.mat
