Trouble installing Matlab on Samsung series 9 laptop

I have trouble installing Matlab on my Samsung series 9 laptop (NP900x4D-A02SE). After the installer has finished extracting the files, a popup says something about configuring Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable (x64). After a while, the popup disappears and the installation stops.

I've tried to remove all the files and downloading them again, though this has not helped. Any suggestions?
