Hi,
I have a project to do at University that requires an investigation into the thermal properties of IGBTs and how it affects their reliabity. I was wondering if Simscape Electrical provides the same modelling capability as Multisim, i.e. is it possible to download load manufactures spice models with thermal capabilities? I would prefer to use Simscape due to the interface with Matlab for data analysis which Multisim doesn't have, but I'm unsure about the capabilities. Can anyone advise?
Kind regards,
Andy.

Hello Andy,
You can import spice models into Simscape Electrical. Please see this documentation: https://www.mathworks.com/help/physmod/sps/ref/subcircuit2ssc.html
Unfortunately, not all Spice models will convert so you may come accross vendor provided models that this will not work for. If this is the case, you can contact technical support about the specific spice model you are having issues with/
Regards,
Joel
