Select an object in a video in one frame and track that object through all frames of a video

Hello. I am looking to analyze a specific object through various frames of a video recording. I would like to select the object in the first frame and then have a program that is able to select that same moving object through the subsequent frames. By select, it would be nice to have the object outlined or even placed in a rectangle.

The bigger purpose of this is to be able to track the intensity of the object as time goes on (with every frame). Any help would be greatly appreciated!
