How to use the RS encoder with the qpsk blocks in simulink?

I'm trying to figure out how I can add block encoders like the RS Encoder/Decoder to run a QPSK Modulation simulation. See image of the simulink blocks. The RS encoder is set up as (N,K) = (15,5) and the bernouli generator is set to 80 samples per frame. The bit error rate on top gives 0 errors but the one through the qpsk path has 50% errors. If I take out the RS encoder /decoder blocks, the bit error rate in the QPSK modulator path drops to 0. What could the RS Encoder /Decoder doing that could cause errors to show up through the QPSK modulator channel?
