Is there a way to still use simulink in combination withLEGO MINDSTORMS NXT?

I have seen in " Is LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT supported in previous releases?" that the LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT add-on is not supported by simulink anymore. Is there another way to connect/promgram my LEGO NXT with simulink (for example using MATLAB functions in simulink, since MATLAB still supports the LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT hardware).
