pitch detection by autocorrelaion

Does anyboday can tell me how can we use the autocorrelation for finding pitch?

Can you please send me the link,I looked the website but I have found some codes very complicated.

I really dont know,when we plot the autocorelation by Matalb function (xcorr) what is the x axis?

If I want to see the lags should I use any specific formula?Is the pitch periods are exactly the lags?

Can you please give me some useful refrences.
