According to the SIMSCAPE Product Manager, the only work around here, is to create/use dummy custom domains. The domains are given colours due to a predefined order. To change the colour, you could keep creating dummy domains and loading them before your custom domain until you reach the desired colour. Maybe something that could be added to the next Matlab update would be this simple functionality to define domain styles

I have created a Custom Simscape Domain, but often when I use it, or rebuild it, the colour changes, and this is quite annoying. Especially as at the moment it is almost the exact same colour as the default mechanical translational domain. Is there a way to define the colour of the Custom Domain, and also, is there a way to find the colour (RGB values or corresponding name) of other domains.
I have been creating a lot of custom mechanical and hydraulic parts, and then trying to create symbols for them with matching colours. I used a screen shot and then paint to get rough RGB values or tried to guess the name, but you can still tell its not the same colour.
Regards,
Mat
