Is there any way to expand the '2d example of Heat Transfer Between Two Squares Made of Different Materials' in 3d using MATLAB?

The challenge I am facing is specifying the geometry since I never worked in cad or used .stl files before. Is there anyway to add two block.stl to make one block with different properties in MATLAB?..or even subtract to create a hole inside the block? Thanks
