Hello
1) is there a way using active-x to open a power point template? 2) How do I create a power point document that is standard 4:3 dimensions? currently it opens in the wide mode?

Ok ... thanks that works Now the power point 2013 has 2 sections in the master slides. I need to apply the 2nd section. Is there a way to do that or to insert the slide from the 2nd section?

You can use the following snippet of code to open a PowerPoint template using ActiveX server:
ppt = actxserver('PowerPoint.Application');
ppt.Visible = 1;
get(ppt);
new_ppt = ppt.Presentations;
invoke(new_ppt);
x = Add(new_ppt);
To specify the dimensions, you could use any of the following:
ppt.Left = value;
ppt.Top = value;
ppt.Width = value;
ppt.Height = value;
