add dd and mmm and time for matrix

Hi,

I have a file like this (see the attached csv file) but I need to include dd mmm yyyy in first column and (arbitrary time say 12:00) time in second column as shown in "output" below. How can I achieve this in MATLAB?

Any help is appreciated.

The code changes slightly to create a table and then write the table to the Excel file:

writetable(table_out, file_out)                                     % Write File

This is the full code, including the previous code to create the date strings.

The table is necessary because the xlswrite function doesn’t like the cell array of strings. The intermediate table variable solves whatever problem it has with them.

The ‘File_Check_...’ variables simply demonstrate that the data were written to the file correctly, and how to read them. They aren’t necessary for the rest of the code.

Thanks. Is there a way to separate dd mmm yyyy and hh:mm to two columns? It's in the same column in the output.

It doesn’t save correctly. When I try to separate it, the '12:00' formats correctly in the table, but converts to 0.5 in the Excel file.

The best you can hope for is to keep them together in the table, write the table to the Excel file, and then use a relatively simple regexp call to separate them after you import them:

[File_Check_Num,File_Check_Dates] = xlsread(file_out)                % Check File (Can Be Discarded)
Check_Dates = regexp(File_Check_Dates(2:end,:), '\s','split');

The first line of ‘Check_Dates’ will look like this:

      '1/1/1990'    '12:00:00'
