I would like to know how a digital image can be hidden using curvelet transform with the help of MATLAB.

You'd have to search the literature http://www.visionbib.com/bibliography/contents.html to hopefully find a paper that already did that, or else invent a way yourself.

Is curvelet an obsolete method? any better method to hide an image in another comparative to curvelet?

I'm not very familiar with steganography, just a little familiar. All I have is an LSB watermarking demo and a text hiding method (in my File Exchange). I can give them to you if you want, but like I said, your best source of all the methods is the published literature in the link I gave you.
