Error Savinf m files. 'Error writing example.m The file on disk might be empty or incomplete ...'

2 views (last 30 days)
Let say I am working example.m script. Since couple of months I am having problems with saving scripts. When I press save example.m I am getting following error message: ‘Error writing example.m The file on disk might be empty or incomplete. Ensure there is sufficient free space on the drive, and then save the file again. Do not reload the file before you successfully save it.’ Then I press yes and get this message: ‘ This file has been modified outside of the MATLAB Editor. Do you want to reload it?’
This message shows almost every time I try to save modified script or function. Often, it actually don’t save changes, I have to close it and open again. It appears less often, when my script is on the same folder as my data, but I can’t do it because I am using the same programs for different data sets. Also, I am working on the server, not my local drive and I’ve already transferred entire folder with my programs to the server, but it helped only for short time.
Thank you for the help

Hi Walter, sorry, for late reaction, I thought I will be notify by email about any coments to my question. Anyway, I am using fs3 network drive, if that answears your first question. However, I switch off windows firewall, and I am no longer getting this problem (although I have to test if they re-appear again), This probably means, that matlab was not on the list of the allowed programs on the network. thank you very much for this suggestion Topolowa
